Trivia

    Album

  • This album was a turning point in O.P. Nayyar's career. He was dejected with the failure of his previous score for the film Cham Chama Cham (1952) and was planning to leave Bombay when this opportunity came his way as a result of Geeta Dutt's recommendation. His songs for Aar Paar became a big hit and his career flourished from that point on.[MR3]

    Song

  • Babuji Dheere Chalna Pyar Mein Zara Sambhalna - This song is inspired, in part, by Cuban songwriter, Osvaldo Farres' "Quizas, Quizas, Quizas". The song was covered by many artists including Nat King Cole. The English version of this song "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps" was popularized by Doris Day.[1]
  • Sun Sun Sun Sun Zalima - This song has the same tune as Ja Ja Ja Ja Bewafa from the same film.
  • Sun Sun Sun Sun Zalima - Majrooh Sultanpuri had originally written the second line of the mukhda as "pyar mujhko tujhse ho gaya". Guru Dutt felt that the phrase "mujhko tujhse" felt dry ("khushk") and suggested that the poet use "humko tumse" instead. Majrooh thought the usage was not proper but agreed to change the lyrics accordingly.[2]
  • Mohabbat Kar Lo Jee Bhar Lo - This is the only O.P. Nayyar song that featured Suman Kalyanpur's voice - she sings a line in the second stanza in the film and is part of the chorus with Geeta Dutt. However, the second stanza was not part of the audio release and she was never officially credited for it.[3]
  • Ja Ja Ja Ja Bewafa - This song has the same tune as Sun Sun Sun Sun Zalima from the same film
