Trivia

    Album

  • Before this film, Gulzar was associated with another adaptation of Shakespeare's "Comedy Of Errors". He was the Chief Assistant Director for Bimal Roy's "Do Dooni Chaar" (1968) and also wrote dialogues and lyrics for the film.

    Song

  • Honthon Pe Beeti Baat - It was in this song that a meend (continuous notes) was played on a santoor the first time. The player was Pandit Ulhas Bapat. Bapat had demoed this style of playing the santoor to R.D. Burman while riding in his car. Burman was so impressed that he wanted this style included for his composition. The meend can be heard in the interlude after the mukhda and between the two antaras. Pancham included Bapat's santoor meend in several songs after this including "Mera Kuch Saaman" ("Ijaazat", 1987).
  • Pritam Aan Milo - This song is a parody of the song originally performed by Geeta Dutt for the Movie "Mr & Mrs 55" and later by C.H. Atma. The original music was composed by O.P. Nayyar and the lyrics were by Saroj Mohini Nayyar.
