Trivia

    Album

  • This 1943 film is considered the first blockbuster hit Hindi film. It was the first Hindi film whose box office earnings crossed Rs. 1 crore.
  • Although he was never credited officially, this 1943 film was one of the films written by noted Hindi writer Bhagwati Charan Verma. Between 1942 and 1947, he was employed with Bombay Talkies and wrote scripts for several films for the studio. It is said that he didn't want to be credited for these films since he felt it would dilute his reputation as a serious writer.

    Song

  • Door Hato Ae Duniya Walon Hindustan Humara Hai - While this was clearly a song against the British rule in India, Kavi Pradeep disguised it as a song against World War II's Axis powers, with the lyrics "Tum Na Kise Ke Aage Jhukna German Ho Ya Japani".[MR3]
  • Dheere Dheere Aa Re Baadal (Duet) - This very popular Anil Biswas song is an adaptation of the Pashto song "Raasha Raasha" composed by Sabz Ali Khan.
  • Dheere Dheere Aa Re Baadal (Duet) - While the record had Arun Kumar Mukherjee for the male vocals, Ashok Kumar himself sang in the film version of the song.[1]
