Govinda is an actor in the Hindi film industry and also a Member of Parliament. He has won the Filmfare Award twice while being nominated ten times. He has lent his voice to a couple of songs in Bollywood as well.
Born as Govind Arun Ahuja on 21 December 1963, he is the sixth and youngest son of actors Arun Ahuja and Nirmala Devi. He began his career as an actor with “Ilzaam” in 1986 and has acted in over 120 Hindi films.
In 1992 he sang “Gore Gore Baanke Chhore” for the film “Shola Aur Shabnam”. “Bade Kaam Ka Bander” from “Aankhen” (1993) and “Arey Ek Hai Anaar Yahan” from “Dulaara” (1994) were also sung by him. Other movies he has sung for include “Billoo Badshah” (1989) and “Haseena Maan Jayegi” (1999).
He has sung alongside the likes of Alka Yagnik, Kumar Sanu, Chunkey Pandey, Mohammad Aziz and Arun Bakshi and has worked under the music direction of Bappi Lahiri, Nikhil-Vinay, Jagjit Singh, Anu Malik and Aadesh Srivastav.
